Week One: Students will play several songs in C position using skips, steps, and harmonic intervals. Week Two: We will learn about fourths and half rests. We will continue playing several songs in C position. Students will have the option to perform a song of their choice for the class. Week Three: We will continue to learn new songs in C position while reviewing concepts learned in previous lessons. We will learn about fifths. Hello! I am so excited to teach piano classes on Outschool! I have been playing piano most of my life and I really love teaching beginners. It is so important to learn the fundamentals like correct hand position, posture, and note reading from the very beginning, and these are some of the things that I really focus on in class. I have taught many students of all ages how to play the piano. I have also taught high school and jr. high school choir and jr. high school band in the San Antonio, Texas area. I have been an accompanist for many groups, including The Children's Chorus of San Antonio, and I served as a member of the Fifth United States Army Band at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. I look forward to working with your child!
