Students will learn to play with correct technique, learn to read music on the staff, and learn to play several simple songs.
Daily practice is essential in learning to play an instrument. Students should set a practice goal of 20-30 minutes each day. New pieces will be assigned each week.
Students will need a piano or an electronic keyboard. Students MUST have the lesson book for this course. "Alfred's Prep Course - Level B" can be purchased from a music store, alfred.com, or amazon.com. It is available in print or digital format.
40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
