In this 8-week multi-day class, students will learn the sought after on-camera acting fundamentals through fun, engaging, classical activities and exercises in a fun, nurturing, safe environment!

Description

Class Experience

Students will be able to:

Use the actor’s instrument to express a character and tell a story on-camera
Relax and feel comfortable on-camera and in life
Be more present, focused, and relaxed
Embody the Film Acting Techniques necessary to work professionally in Film & TV if they choose
unearth the special parts about themselves and what composes their identity
describe the world of a character and traits that make them who they are
relax character movements to reveal more inner life of the character and themselves
use the body and voice to effectively express a character and tell a story
calibrate a performance for the camera including close-ups
use tactics to complete an objective
break down professional film sides
portray a nuanced human being for the camera
perform a scene with a partner 
identify the subtext of a script and make choices within the bounds of the subtext
identify objectives and tactics in our everyday lives and in the context of a Film & TV scene
identify the environment of a scene and conventions to create an environment
perform beginner imagination and sense memory
allow their inner spark shine for the camera
Students are encouraged to prepare the short acting assignments that are given for the next class. The skills learned in each class can be rehearsed with an adult at home (or friends).
Students may receive written feedback from the instructor upon request at any point. Helpful and constructive verbal feedback will be given after each exercise.
45 minutes per week in class, and no time outside of class.
