Class Experience
In this 3 day class students will learn the steps to shim sham. This is a 1940's era dance. I will break down the dance into three small sections and we will do one section per day. I will demonstrate each section prior to the students attempting the steps. When it is the students turn to do the steps, I will have them copy me first, and then try the steps on their own. If the students learn the steps quicker than planned, we will spend the last day perfecting timing and doing the...
2 hours 15 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Students should have an open area with no tripping hazards, such as a living room with furniture pushed aside. Students should also wear tennis shoes for class. This is a low-key dance and does not contain strenuous dance moves. As with any physical activity, there is always a risk. If students attempt to dance in shoes with heels or flip flops they risk twisting an ankle.
