As there are 46 hiragana in this phonetic writing system, students will be supplied with a chart which will be accessible upon enrollment. The class will not go over all of them, as it is recommended for students to know at least 80% of all hiragana, but I will be providing the students with learning tools which they will be able to access during the class and after using Quizlet. Students will be able to pronounce different sounds that are unique to Japanese, recognize and label the different writing systems, and include more phrases to expand on the initial self-instroduction from the previous class.
A computer or a laptop, or a tablet for the main part of the class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Interactive class activities will take place for informal assessment throughout the class.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
