1-2 hours per week. As this is a flex class homework such as practicing the flash cards, submitting recordings of speaking, etc will be required, It should only take about 30 minutes to do homework.Class Experience
This no-live class package is the culmination of my Beginner Korean 1, 2, and 3 (live zoom classes)and it replaces those 3 courses that I offer on this platform. No past experience is necessary! We will virtually have 12 classes that go over all of the basics in Korean. I like to show various videos of Korean folktales, interviews with Korean kids, k-pop music videos, and more to facilitate our learning. This class will be interactive through student video/voice recording submissions. A rough outline can be seen in the syllabus section as well: 1) greetings and introduction to Hangul (the Korean alphabet) 2) new vocabulary and responding to questions (e.g. yes, no, I don’t know) 3) both ways of counting (at least to 10) and finishing off basic Hangul letters 4) introduce double consonants and vocab for body (head, shoulders, eyes, etc) 5) introduce double vowels and more vocab 6) practice answering questions in full sentences and go over common words with confusing spelling 7) go over different colors (pink, blue, etc) 8) subject-object-verb structure/ subject-adjective structure for sentences 9) describe food and taste, learn how to ask questions (who, what, when, where, why) 10) purchasing, asking, responding 11) days of the week 12) try speaking more conversationally
