1-2 hours per week. :::Students are encouraged to check the class bulletin board prior to the beginning of each week::: Before each meetings, students are expected to study vocabulary and/or grammar/expression flash card sets. This way we use the class time efficiently for activities such as interpersonal speaking and collaborative writing.Class Experience
::::::::::::::::::::::::::: What will be taught? ::::::::::::::::::::::::::: <Cultural Fun>Summer Festivals The cultural fun part will include introduction to summer festivals in Japan. Week 1 Making a Plan Week 2 Making Suggestions Week 3 Colors and Counters Week 4 Clothing Articles ::::::::::::::::::::::::::: How is your class structured? ::::::::::::::::::::::::::: We will meet in zoom for 30 minutes TWICE a week. The class will have slides with easy to see illustrations and sensei will explain and model the pronunciation and the use of grammar/expressions. ::::::::::::::::::::::::::: How will you teach? ::::::::::::::::::::::::::: On zoom through Outschool platform. External resources such as Quizlet for vocabulary decks, Padlet for simple application assignments, and Google Drive/Slide/Forms/Spreadsheet for collaborative work with classmates for between classes assignments. ::::::::::::::::::::::::::: What's your teaching style? ::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Easy-going, but perhaps because of the subject I teach, most students are really respectful, which I truly appreciate. ::::::::::::::::::::::::::: How much will learners get to interact with you and each other (mention specifics like: lecture, games, slides, video clips, discussion)? ::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Learning a foreign language is all about interaction!! There will be interactive class activities for informal assessments. Pair activities/assignments are designed to develop each student's 21st century skills such as collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking. If you are a home school student who is looking for a formal assignment grades, I will be happy to work with you (but I need to know what is expected). ::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Any required experience or knowledge learners need? ::::::::::::::::::::::::::: It is recommended that you already know at least half of hiragana and have taken Beginner Japanese Language and Culture 06 (Twice a Week, 4 wks long) prior to taking this one.
