This class is a live web based hip hop dance class that will focus on unique choreography and creative movement/improvisation. Class Flow --------------- 1. Attendance, introduction to students and classmates. 2. Full body stretch. 3. Introduction/review well known steps in hip hop dance.. 4. Combination that incorporates steps. 5. Choreography based on the technical hip hop combination to create a short dance (dance sentence) 6. Performance/show and tell.. 7. Cool down. Students will be introduced to hip hop terminology, educated on what it means and how to properly present it in the hip hop form and then shown and guided through the presentation of each term. Dance Combination Moves: -------------------------------------------- This portion of the class combines the terminology and the dance moves to create dance sentences. Repetition of the dance moves will help their memorization (muscle memory); the major key to developing a dance. We will practice each term 2 to 3 times. (more if necessary). Creative Movement ----------------------------------------------------- Students will be encouraged to explore! They will be guided through movements such as "sway your arms like waves in the ocean" or asked to " make a usually small movement larger". This is the section that opens their minds and encourages them to do a little of their own choreography. Performance --------------------- Students will get to share their creative movements and then "perform" together as a class.
Learning Goals
The goal is that students will learn rhythm and musicality and increase their coordination, muscle memorization and spatial awareness. Hip hop dance is one of the most unique genres of dance, and students should learn their own way of doing the same moves that will be introduced to them.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Dance has so many things to offer and I can appreciate how much I was able to incorporated in to my real life. I am grateful to have learned life skills and lessons, such as the importance of relationships, commitment, exercise, challenges, integrity, sportsmanship, and so much more. I believe that everyone can benefit from dance. It has a way of encouraging individuality, and I do my best to provide tools and knowledge students need to explore their individuality and the art within through movement. I humbly admit I have never been injured in my dance career and that I support and believe it is due to technique and the proper ways to present movement; all of which I pour into my students.
