Class Description:
Join us for a fun and creative beginner hand embroidery class designed for kids ages 11-14! In this class, we’ll explore the basics of embroidery, including the essential tools you’ll need and three fundamental stitches:

🧵 Backstitch – Perfect for outlining and adding detail
🧵 Running Stitch – A simple stitch great for borders and patterns
🧵 Stem Stitch – A great choice for curves and floral designs

We’ll begin by learning about the materials used in embroidery, including fabric, hoops, needles, and thread. Then, through step-by-step instruction and hands-on practice, students will build confidence as they stitch along with me. By the end of class, students will have a sampler showcasing their new skills and be ready to start their own embroidery projects!

No prior experience is needed—just a love for creativity and a willingness to learn!

Learning Goals

Identify and Understand Embroidery Tools – Students will learn about the essential tools used in embroidery, including hoops, needles, fabric, and floss, and how to use them properly.
Master Three Basic Stitches – Students will practice and develop proficiency in four foundational embroidery stitches: backstitch, running stitch, satin stitch, and stem stitch.

Pre-Requisites
Students should practice threading a needle with embroidery thread and tying a knot at one end before their first class. We will go over these things, but it will be helpful for them if they know how to get their needle and thread ready.

✂️ Embroidery needles
✂️ Fabric (cotton or linen)
✂️ Fabric marker or pencil
✂️ Scissors (I use embroidery scissors, but any snippers or scissors will be fine!)
