This is a beginner guitar course for students who haven't played guitar before. I'll be teaching some very basic knowledge to help your student get started! Required knowledge: None! What will we learn? 🎸 Names of guitar strings 🎸 Parts of the guitar 🎸 How to read a chord diagram 🎸 G, C, D, E, Am, and Em chords 🎸 Rhythm basics and 3 strum patterns 🎸 Methods for practicing chords at home/ building muscle memory 🎸 How to read a chord chart 🎸 Learn to play 'Lost On You,' by LP Who Should take this class? ⭐️ Beginner guitar players - if you've never played before, this class is for you! No extra knowledge required. ⭐️ Students who used to play guitar and need a refresher - this class is a great way to review the basics to get you playing again! What is a class with Ms. Nobbe like? 🤘🏻My teaching style is very laid back. 🤘🏻I strive to create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and even making mistakes (because mistakes are how we learn!) 🤘🏻I'll teach the skills to the group using my guitar as a visual, as well as chord diagrams and a chord chart for learning the song. This accommodates visual learners. Since this is a guitar class, you could say the class is very 'hands on' (pun intended!) This accommodates students who learn by 'doing,' and in my experience, is the most effective way to teach guitar. Take home materials (posted after class) ⭐️Chord diagram PDF ⭐️Parts of the guitar PDF ⭐️Guitar string names PDF Before class ⭐️Please come to class with your guitar tuned! It would take a significant amount of class time if I were to help each student learn to tune their guitar. Fortunately, it's super easy thanks to technology! I recommend getting a Snark tuner, but if you don't have time to grab one before class, you can use the GuitarTuna app in the meantime. Check the materials section for a link to a guitar tuning tutorial! REFUND POLICY - Full refunds are offered for 24h notice that a student cannot attend class. - Refunds are not offered for missed classes without 24h notice. - Reschedule options are only available for 24h notice. Please note that reschedule availability depends on the teacher's schedule at the time, which fluctuates from week to week.
