Description
Class Experience
Students will learn -the parts of their guitar and their function -how to tune their guitar -how to read chord charts and form chords -how to read and play strumming patterns -how to apply their guitar foundations in playing a song
Week 1: Students will draw a picture and label the parts of the guitar. They will also submit a short video at the end of this week. They will show that they know the string names and that their guitar is in tune. Week 2: Students will copy the diagram of each chord chart as well as a picture or video of them forming each chord on their guitar. Week 3: Students will research a song that they would like to learn. They will then share what songs they are hoping to learn how to play and find the guitar chords for one of their song choices. Week 4: Students will submit a short video showing each strumming pattern they have learned while playing their first song. It would be best for each student to practice what they have learned each day for 15-20 minutes.
Guitar, tuner, pencil, and paper.
I will comment and give tips on each of the student's submissions during the course.
No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
