Bonjour! ⭐️During my lessons, I will be speaking both English and French. No prior knowledge is needed to join my class. There will be target vocabulary words that we will be working on for each lesson. I will also teach my students some simple sentences that would be used with the targeted vocabulary. At the beginning of every lesson, we will take some time to greet each other in French. ⭐️Learning a new language should be enjoyable and that is always my goal. I want my students to feel comfortable enough to try, make mistakes and learn from them. I will give them tricks to remember what is being taught and time to practice in class. ⭐️A handout is always provided. These worksheets are always optional. They are tools for your child to use during or after class. Some classes might have a small craft or some colouring. I will always let you know what materials are needed in advance. I try to use materials that are easily accessible as often as possible. ⭐️If you cannot find a time that works for you, please take a look at my other beginner class. It is also an ongoing class and the CONTENT actually BUILDS. Learners can join at any time. https://outschool.com/classes/ongoing-beginner-french-learn-and-practice-speaking-french-45hnmHX0?usid=2YaZBaGo&signup=true&utm_campaign=share_activity_link 🗓️ Schedule *Subject to change based on student interest* Week of November 4th: Body parts Week of November 11th: Parts of the face Week of November 18th: Family Week of November 25th: Likes and dislikes Week of December 2nd: Emotions Week of December 9th: Being sick Week of December 16th: Winter break ❄️ Winter Break ❄️ Week of January 6th: New Year Week of January 13th: Winter Clothes Week of January 20th: Winter Animals Week of January 27th: Lunar New Year Week of February 3rd: Weather Week of February 10th: Valentine’s Day Week of February 17th: Hobbies Week of February 24th: Smell Week of March 3rd: Taste Week of March 10th: St-Patrick’s Day Week of March 17th: Spring Week of March 24th: Shapes Week of March 31st: Opposites Week of April 7th: Action Verbs Week of April 14th: Colours Week of April 21st: My garden Week of April 28th: Fairy Tales Week of May 5th: Mother’s Day Week of May 12th: Pets Week of May 19th: Farm animals Week of May 26th: Questions Week of June 2nd: Where is? Hello!
My name is Yvonne and I am a certified elementary school teacher in Quebec, Canada. I have 5 years of experience teaching in a classroom setting and over three years of experience teaching ESL online.
I am a stay-at-home mom at the moment. I have three boys under the age of 8 that keep me very busy. I'm so excited to have found Outschool because I have missed being in the classroom and teaching subjects that I love. I believe students learn the best when they feel comfortable in the classroom. I engage my students by being genuine, encouraging, patient, and funny. Building rapport and relationships with my students is as important as the content of the lesson.
I have a passion for languages and speak three myself (English, French, and Swiss German). I also get by in Spanish and German. I will be creating French classes for beginners. I want my students to enjoy learning a new language and feel comfortable enough to speak it in my class.
I also really love travelling and have been lucky enough to have visited many countries in Europe, South America, and Africa. I will be offering classes that take us around the world. Some of my travel classes will have a different focus (animals, food, extreme weather, etc.) while others will be more general but focus on a specific country.
I also really enjoy teaching through the use of picture books and will be creating a variety of lessons based on some of my favourite books. I will be creating lessons that focus on making connections as readers. I also enjoy teaching my students the writing process by first exploring different themes and topics that connect with them.
I am very happy to be teaching through Outschool and look forward to meeting your child!
