Beginner French Cooking: Crêpes!

In this class we will be collecting items from our kitchen to make the classic French treat: crêpes! As we gather our ingredients and cooking tools, we will learn some vocabulary in French for the things we are using to cook. We will discuss culturally how crêpes are made and consumed in France- from a sit down dinner or lunch to street food! This will be a very active class, learners will be working in the kitchen to make crepes! We will support students with a variety of needs.
Students need to be able to use a pan on the stove.
Ingredients: 1 cup all purpose flour 1 eggs 1/2 cup milk 1/2 cup water salt 2 tablespoons butter (melted) Tools: measuring spoons and cups small pan for cooking the crepes, a small omelette pan will work cooking spray or butter for the pan spatula Toppings- any of the following, or bring whatever else you want to eat on crêpes! Savory: ham, cheese, sausage, fried egg, lettuce, balsamic vinaigrette Sweet: berries, jam, powdered sugar, banana, Nutella, cookie butter, whipped cream, chocolate sauce, orange, ice cream, caramel
Students will need to use the stove in this class, but no other kitchen equipment except for measuring tools. Ingredients include dairy, eggs, and wheat- if I know in advance, I can provide allergen free alternatives to any of these products.
