Homework
4+ hours per week. The homework assigned will be to practice the material I assign and that we go over. It is expected to practice for 30-60 minutes per day of the assigned material.Class Experience
During this interactive flute lesson, your student will be taught new flute techniques and ways to improve their playing from a trained flutist. Topics covered will include: Warm up techniques, tonal exercises to improve sound quality, technical exercises, scale work, and etudes which will be used to apply what we have learned. The class will be structured in a 1 on 1 setting (or a 1 on 'multiple' setting, parents are welcome to observe!) The students will go through a warm up exercise that was assigned, and feed back will be given. The same for exercises, scales, and etudes. **IF LESSON TIMES LISTED DO NOT WORK FOR YOUR SCHEDULE, MESSAGE ME FOR EXTRA AVALIBILITY**
Learning Goals
Students will improve their musicianship and flute playing by scales, technical exercises, etudes, and tonal exercises.

Supply List
I will be supplying materials for this course in PDF form via email after the first lesson. If your student currently has music books they practice out of, those may be used upon evaluation of playing.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Sources
We will be working out of any current books the student has. If they do not have any, after a playing evaluation, I will be sending sheet music to be printed that is appropriate to their playing ability.
Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello!
Types of classes I teach are flute lessons, music history courses, various music classes and more! I am a graduate Central Connecticut State University studying music education and during the week I am a music teacher. I have a great understanding of music history of all eras and excel in the subject. I am a member of the National Association for Music Education at the national level and I am a member and on the executive board at the collegiate level where I served as Treasurer. I am a member of the American Orff- Schulwerk Association for music education as well as the Organization of American Kodaly Educators, which specializes with K-6 music classes. I have been a student in a laboratory preschool for two years as well as working at summer camps. I have a lot of experience working with children. My teaching philosophy is that every student is special in their own way and excels in different areas, so it is important to help and support each one to achieve their goals and dreams. Being a teacher is more about standing in front of a classroom, it is about having a connection with students to better their knowledge in certain fields and make them great human beings at the end of the day by learning valuable life skills and experiences. I love to read, be in nature, craft, and spend time with my pets! My favorite animals (amphibians) are toads, and I love Korean food :)
