As a flute teacher and music educator, I know first hand that the struggle is REAL for beginner flutists. Making first sounds, holding the flute correctly (it's horizontal after all), and enjoying the beginning stages of learning a new instrument can be far from fun - unless you have the help of an expert who can give your student the attention and knowledge they need to thrive! Guiding new fluties to success is one of my favorite aspects of being a flute teacher. I've had the joy of working with numerous band programs as they start their new flutes and can't wait to work with your student in a caring, compassionate environment (with a small group of other newbies who are ready to learn). By enrolling in Beginner Flute Jump Start, your child will learn how to create a great sound, learn their first notes, and play songs with me - an experienced teacher with a passion for beginners. I can't wait to share all of my tips and tricks with your student to jump start their playing this year. The Beginner Flute Jump Start is a 5 day camp designed specifically for your new flutists needs. Beginner Flute Jump Start Schedule Day 1 Learn all about the flute and make first sounds on the headjoint Day 2 Play high and low sounds on the headjoint - and play our first song! Day 3 Learn our first 3 notes with the whole flute (and how to articulate) Day 4 Putting it all together - practice changing notes and reading notes on the staff Day 5 Play a new song and perform for our classmates!
Learning Goals
Beginner Flute Jump Start will cover all of the basics your student needs to succeed this year, including first sounds, note reading, assembly and care, articulation, and posture.
