Homework
1 hour per week. This is a flexible course. Students will watch the uploaded interactive videos each week, complete the activities during the interactive video, and complete the weekly games in each video. Students will upload an audio or video recording of the speaking activity to the teacher in Google classroom for the class. There will be no group work in this course, but students are encouraged to use props to practice and be creative in their presentations! Discussions and games participation will take place in a discussion board format in the classroom. Fun!!Assessment

Beginner - Intermediate Level
This course is a beginner level conversational Spanish Course based on weekly themes! Students will learn Spanish in a flexible course format for seven weeks. Content each week will include speaking activities using weekly vocabulary themes, guided practice, and interactive games! Guided pronunciation and conversation practice will occur in the target language through the use of a recording of the teacher posts in the Google classroom presenting the content to be learned each week in a fun, and engaging manner! In the recording, the teacher will use slides, activities, and games to engage the student! During the week, the teacher will use the classroom page to engage with students and practice the current topic of the week in Spanish. There is not a live meeting, students will practice using the recordings posted in the classroom. Students will interact with the recorded video through speaking activities, skits, and games! Students are encouraged to use props to practice the learned dialogues. Each week, the student will create a conversation based on learned content to "present" to the teacher via video or audio recording. Specific instructions will be posted in the classroom each week. This is optional! The only requirement to join this course is a desire to have fun learning Spanish in a friendly, interactive way! Yay! Content covered each week will include the following: Week 1 - Getting to know you! - Learn to have a conversation saying hello, how are you, your name, where you're from, your age, pleased to meet you phrases, and goodbyes! - Review game, "What is the questions??" - Play "Find the Hola" Week 2 - Los Animales - Review week 1 concepts through an interactive conversation. - Learn talk about your favorite farm animals, sea creatures, and pets! - Play Los Animales Loteria (Bingo) Week 3 - La Ciudad y El Campo - Review week 1 & 2 concepts and vocabulary. - Learn to talk about The City vs The Country! - Play the "Where is it?" game. Week 4 - Vacaciones de Verano - Review week 1, 2, & 3 concepts and vocabulary. - Find out the answer to week 3, "Where is it" game. - Learn to talk about Summer Vacation! - Play "Guess What I'm Thinking" game. Week 5 - La Escuela - Review week 1, 2, 3, and 4 concepts and vocabulary - Find out "What I'm Thinking" to see if you guessed correctly! - Learn to talk about school and favorite subjects to learn! - Play "Beat the Battery" word guessing game! - Play Charades! Week 6 - Mis Actividades Favoritas - Review week 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 concepts and vocabulary. - Find out the answer to the word guessing game! - Learn to talk about your favorite activities or past times. - Play Pictionary - Play Time to Climb Week 7 - Fall Fun!! - Review week 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, ad 6 concepts and vocabulary - Learn to talk about Fun Fall Activities! - Play Fall Fun I Spy! - Play Fall Fun Loteria!
Learning Goals
Students will learn Spanish at an introductory level. Students will learn to speak and present information in the target language about themselves, their favorite animals, discuss places, subjects in school, and activities!

Google slides will be used as a screen share in the posted videos. I will create the videos using zoom or canva. The videos will be accessed from the Outschool classroom either via zip file upload to the classroom or view only link to Canva posted in the classroom.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Spanish and a Master's Degree in Education. I taught Spanish at a traditional public middle school for 11 years and at a traditional public high school for 3 years. Currently, I am the administrative supervisor and instructional leader of the World Languages Department at a traditional public high school. I have experience teaching all core content areas at the elementary level in a traditional school classroom, as well as in a bilingual classroom. I have been teaching live and flex beginner Spanish classes on Outschool since June of 2020!
