👋 Hi! I'm Dr. Emberton and it is super nice to meet you on Outschool! I've been a public school teacher for ten years and worked in the private business sector for ten years before my time in the classroom. Let me tell you a little more about this opportunity. Deciding to teach on Outschool was a BIG deal for me! During the day, I still work with homeschool students but I am very passionate about computer science and technology skills. ▪️ FOUR COMMON TASK I can identify and describe the four task common to all computing technology. ▪️ HOW A COMPUTER WORKS I can explain computer problems with accurate vocabulary. ▪️ Binary System: My Computer's Language I can write in Binary Code to better understand how hardware & software interact to collect and exchange data ▪️ Impacts of Technology I can compare the historical impacts (positive and negative) of technology. ▪️ Predicting the Future of Technology I can predict future impacts of technology on our culture. ▪️ Private vs Public Posting Online I can list the pros and cons to keeping information private or public. I can identify information that should be private or public. ▪️ Data Intro I can read stored data from a database. ▪️ Bias and Accessibility (ADVANCED) I can discuss how different populations use technology based on the issues of device. ▪️ What's the Internet (ADVANCED) I can explain the 3 main ways we connect to the Internet. ▪️ END of CYCLE Q&A I can review my notes and determine gaps in my learning.
