Welcome to the Computer Science & AI Online Self-Paced Course! I’m thrilled to have you join this exciting journey into the world of technology, coding, and artificial intelligence. This 8-week course will introduce you to the fascinating world of AI, teach you fundamental coding skills, and guide you through interactive projects that bring technology to life. Getting Started: Our first lesson will explore the basics of AI and how it’s used in everyday life. You’ll need access to an internet-capable device (with a microphone) and a quiet space to focus. Before our first activity, please visit the Teachable Machine by Google and familiarize yourself with the platform. We’ll use it in Lesson 1 to create and train a simple AI model. What You Need for the First Class: Internet-capable device with a microphone A computer with a camera for interactive activities Access to Code.org (create a free account if you don’t have one) Optional: A journal (digital or physical) for reflections and notes Classroom Expectations: Keep your personal information private – no last names, cities, or gaming handles. Feel free to share your excitement, questions, and any previous experience with computer science and AI in the classroom discussion. Always follow the Outschool Participation Guidelines – be kind, respectful, and safe. I can’t wait to see what amazing things you’ll create and discover throughout this course.
