Brazilian Portuguese for Younger Learners: Introduction (Part 2)
Students will be required to take Part I: Brazilian Portuguese for Younger Learners prior to this course. Students will learn through the online format. Homework assignments will include writing exercises and vocabulary lists. Learner progress will be evaluated through participation. The student will develop skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in Portuguese. Upon completion, the following class would be Brazilian Portuguese for Younger Learners: Intermediate (Part 1) 

Learner progress will be evaluated through participation. Assignments will be due two days prior to the scheduled meeting to allow the instructor to provide timely feedback to the learner via the classroom. The assignments are designed to help reinforce the topics learned in each session. While it is recommended to purchase the textbook, the teacher will provide all the materials needed for the learners in this class. This course will use video examples, and assignment explanations, and will provide feedback.

Lesson 1:
𝐒𝐮𝐛𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐬 & 𝐅𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲
 Learners will learn about what the subject pronouns are in Portuguese. In addition, learners will review and expand their vocabulary in describing family members in Brazilian Portuguese.

Lesson 2:
𝐒𝐮𝐛𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐬 & 𝐅𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲
 Learners will learn about what the subject pronouns are in Portuguese. In addition, learners will review and expand their vocabulary in describing family members in Brazilian Portuguese.

Lesson 3:
𝐒𝐞𝐫 (𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞) & 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬
 Learners will be introduced to the verb ‘ser’ and how to conjugate it to the subject pronouns learned from the last lesson. Learners will also be introduced to professions in Portuguese. There will be exercises and drills where learners will be able to practice the vocabulary learned in this lesson. There will also be a short presentation for the following lesson regarding the ‘job’ activity.

Lesson 4:
𝐄𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫 (𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞) & 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐄𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬
 Learners will be introduced to the verb ‘estar’ and will learn how to describe their own emotions in Portuguese using the adjectives learned in this lesson. There will be a small project presentation for the children. There will be a picture book activity where learners will use the subject pronouns and conjugations of ‘estar’ to tell a short story.
