In this 3-lesson self-paced course, learners will get hands-on with Blender, the powerful free 3D modeling software used in animation and game development. Perfect for beginners, this course walks students through the creation of a custom sword from scratch — including modeling, shading, and animating it into a final rendered scene!
Each lesson includes a recorded video tutorial, key terminology, and a creative activity encouraging students to personalize their projects. Whether your learner dreams of making animated films or designing video game assets, this course is the perfect launchpad.

🎯 Learning Goals:
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
* Navigate Blender’s user interface and move objects in 3D space
* Create and modify primitive meshes to form a 3D sword
* Add textures, lighting, and a camera for a visually appealing render
* Animate an object using keyframes and render a simple animation

3 Lessons
over 3 Weeks
Lesson 1:
Lesson 1: Modeling Basics & Blender Interface
 * Learn how to navigate Blender’s interface and Viewport
* Add and transform primitive meshes (like cubes and cylinders)
* Create a basic sword shape through mesh editing
* Practice moving, scaling, and rotating objects
* 🛠️ Activity: Build a 3D sword using primitives 
Lesson 2:
Lesson 2: Shading, Lighting & Scene Setup
 * Explore Blender’s Shading workspace and materials
* Adjust surface properties (like metal and color)
* Add lights and a camera to compose your scene
* 🛠️ Activity: Shade and light your sword in a custom environment 
Lesson 3:
Lesson 3: Animation & Rendering
 * Learn key animation concepts like keyframes and the Timeline
* Animate your sword (spin, rise, rotate, etc.)
* Set up the camera movement if desired
* Render your final animation as a video file
* 🛠️ Activity: Animate your sword and export a final render
