In this fun beginner beam class, students will learn basic beam walks, turns, and kicks. This class is for students who have little to no experience on the beam. Students should have a small floor beam, gymnastics mat with a line, or a line of tape on the floor. The lesson plan in this class is learner-directed and changes depending on the skill level of each class. Below is an example lesson plan: 0-2 min: Welcome 2-10 min: Stretching/basic walks for beam/floor learning 10-15 min: Practice different walks 15-25 min: Practice kicks, turns, and jumps 25-30 min: Game and goodbye Please practice gymnastics in a safe environment away from breakables and other objects. Please provide a soft area under the beam if it isn't a floor beam.

Parental Guidance
Please keep in mind while safety is Coach Kaz Gymnastics' number one priority, we can never rule out the risk of injury in gymnastics. Please provide a safe environment for each learner enrolled.
Supply List
Please provide learners with a small beam, floor beam, a mat with a line, or an 8ft line of tape on the floor to practice beam skills.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Teacher expertise and credentials
Kaz is a dedicated and passionate gymnastics coach with over a decade of experience. She began her coaching journey in 2009 and took her passion to the next level by opening Coach Kaz Gymnastics in 2012. Over the years, Kaz has expanded her business to online formats to share her love of gymnastics worldwide.
Kaz strives to make every session fun and active while fostering confidence, positive attitudes, and essential personal skills in her students. She believes that gymnastics is more than just a sport; it’s the foundation of human movement, providing the building blocks necessary for development in all sports. The fitness and life skills learned through gymnastics are tremendous, and Kaz is dedicated to showing her students that they can achieve anything they set their minds to with hard work and a positive attitude.
Kaz holds an associate's degree in Sports Exercise and Science from Amarillo College, where she gained hands-on experience teaching both children and adults about fitness and body movement. She furthered her education at West Texas A&M University, earning a degree in Psychology. This academic background provides Kaz with a deep understanding of how the mind and body work together, enhancing her ability to teach new skills effectively.
Kaz has taken numerous courses focused on teaching the foundations of gymnastics. Her commitment to continuing education and practical experience has made her an expert in her field. Kaz loves watching her students grow stronger and more confident with each new skill, knowing they have a solid foundation to build upon.
