Class Experience

In this class we will explore the "Ballet Basics"! The dancers will learn the fundamental positions of the feet and arms for ballet as well as ballet terminology. We will also work on directions, creative movement, musicality, and coordination using steps such as skips and playing games like freeze dance! Dancers will learn how to safely stretch their muscles.

The class will start with sitting stretches such as straddles and butterfly stretches. We will then move on to learning positions of the feet and adding steps such as "plie", "releve", and "tendu" while standing. Then comes skips and freeze dance, this is where the dancers will get to express their creativity in making up their own dance while listening to the music. After that we will go over terminology and the dancers will have a chance to tell the class what their favorite thing about class was!

All music will be classical ballet class music! The chat box will be only to message me directly to cut down on distraction.

There is no equipment required for this class! Dancers may wear comfortable clothes that they feel beautiful in!

Supply List
Dancers will need adequate space to dance and a floor that is not slippery. I suggest not wearing socks if using hard wood or tile floors. Camera angle may have to be adjusted between the sitting and standing portions of the class so that I may see the dancers feet and head at the same time while they are standing to ensure safe movement and technique. We will be warming up and stretching in the beginning of the class. Although all stretches we will do will be explained, parents may want to be present to make sure that dancers do not over stretch.
