A class is designed for learners who are intrigued by the art of ballet! This class is for beginner to intermediate dancers and requires no background training. We still start class at the "barre," which, to students if they do not have a barre, will just be something to hold on to while dancing. Then stretch and work in the centre. We will learn plié's, tendu's, dégagé, rond de jambe, grand battement, developé, adage, fondu, petit allegro and more! In this class we will not be doing any big...

Mari MacDonald: Is a recent graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, where she received a Master's Degree in Musical Theatre Performance. Prior to studying in Scotland, she attended Randolph College for the Performing Arts in Toronto, where she received a diploma in Performing Arts. Mari is trained in acting, singing, and dancing, and has been involved in theatre since early childhood. Mari has been dancing since the age of 10 and has trained in ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary, commercial, fosse, and hip hop. Mari has been working with children of all ages for 10 years, she believes that learning to connect with their own creativity is an important step in cultivating confidence and self-assurance in young people. Mari's main goal as an educator is to help learners grow confident and proud of the work they produce. Mari is extremely passionate, driven, open, communicative, compassionate, and qualified to assist a wide range of learners, no matter what their needs.

30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Learner will need something to hold on to in leu of a ballet barre (i.e., chair, ledge, countertop)
