Join me for this baking class to learn how to create delicious Easter Egg Sugar Cookies with your friends and family. We will begin each class with introductions, to ensure that everyone gets to know one another, followed by the class rules and expectations. We will then check to ensure that each learner has the right equipment and tools as well as ingredients needed for the recipe for each class. A PDF will be provided in advance to allow for preparation to help your tiny learner before the class starts. This PDF will be provided 5-7 days in advance. This will ensure you have plenty of time to prepare. As a class we will then go through the recipe together. It is important to have ingredients out for our learners before class begins to help them in the process and help them go through the recipe steps with the class. By the end of class our learners will know how to follow the steps of the recipe and count their ingredients. This class is meant to encourage learning with hands on tasks and creation to help our learners learn without pressure. Please remember that after the 60 minutes they may need time to finish cooling. This kind of information will be provided in the PDF in advance as well as in class. All ingredients and kitchen tools needed will be provided to you in the classroom as well as emailed to you in advance.
Learning Goals
Students will learn to follow a recipe step by step.
Other Details
Parental Guidance
When you enroll in this class, you accept full responsibility for your learner's safety. It is essential that a responsible adult is in the same room as the learner (Outschool policy is that adults must remain off camera) and ready to step in to help if necessary.
Learners will begin to chop ingredients and use knives for food preparation. Please be aware that sometimes sharper knives can be safer than blunt knives for chopping, as less force is necessary and they are less likely to slip or bounce off the food. Some recipes will require the use of a microwave to melt or heat ingredients. Adult supervision of knives, the microwave and hot ingredients is essential.
Some recipes will need baking in the oven. An adult must be responsible for placing the food in the oven, checking on it during cooking and taking it out when necessary.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello there!
My name is Emile Power and I cannot wait to meet your learner! I am a stay-at-home mom to three daughters, live in Toronto, ON and have nine years of teaching experience. I earned my bachelor's degree in Sociology and Psychology through Laurentian University as well as a TESOL and TEFL certificates. After tutoring privately for many years for ages 3-18, I began teaching ESL in the online classroom. I have been teaching ESL online for over two years now and absolutely love the online classroom! I have a multitude of experience working with children with disabilities including but not limited to ADHD, Autism, Down Syndrome and learning disabilities. My classroom is a place of accessibility so please do not hesitate to ask for accommodations or let me know how I can help your child succeed.
My teaching style is student centered and engaging. I like to focus on bringing learning to life through activities. I have always been a hands on learner and watching my daughters learn as well it seems to stick better when they can get their hands dirty. My classes will always include creating. We will work through concepts like math, reading and comprehension through creating and using our imagination. I will be focusing on comprehension, creativity and imagination in my classes for all ages. I will have classes designed for specific age groups to ensure all learners can participate in an atmosphere that suits their learning level and needs.
Life lessons are so important and creating a classroom environment to learn them in a fun way is always my goal. Using the creative side of the brain allows for different retention of material as well as a new outlet for growth and development.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions you may have and make sure to follow my profile for upcoming classes.
I always offer financial support as well if needed. Please do not hesitate to ask, I want my classes to be accessible to everyone.
