Class Experience
In this 8 week flexible schedule class, we will be learning how to bake some delicious cookies, brownies, and more! We will review the basics of baking: accurate measuring, how to choose ingredients, and baking techniques. This is a hands on and participation based class! It is designed to be fun and flexible to fit your schedule. As a flexible schedule course, there are no live zoom meetings. All instructions will come via posts, documents, and prerecorded videos. Your student does not need any prior knowledge (adult supervision/assistance is recommended for younger students when choosing measuring cups and spoons to correspond to the recipe, and also when handling the oven). This is a beginner baking class and intended to introduce the basics in a fun, treat filled way! This will be a relaxed learning experience using step-by-step instructions and opportunity for questions as we go via messages. I will be utilizing demonstration through prerecorded video to provide information to students, as well as reference recipes that can be printed and referred back to. Students will be interacting with classmates within the classroom by answering questions about the weekly recipes (What do you know about... What would you like to know about... What have you leaned about...) as well as sharing photos of their work. The teacher will be available to answer questions via the classroom regularly. Can't wait to bake with you! 1st class: Chocolate Chip 2nd class: Snickerdoodles 3rd class: Triple Chocolate 4th class: Molasses Crinkles 5th class: Smore Brownies 6th class: Blondies 7th class: Shortbread cookies 8th class: Lemon bars All recipes are nut free. Recipes do contain eggs, dairy, and all purpose flour.
Learning Goals
Students will learn to measure ingredients accurately.

Younger students may require assistance with choosing corresponding measuring cups.

A mixer is recommended, but not required. (the teacher will be utilizing a hand or stand mixer during some recipes) parchment paper baking sheet 9x13 pan spatula Recipes will be supplied before classes begin.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
