1 in-class hours per weekClass Experience
This ongoing class is for the beginner gymnast with some basic experience. Those who have already mastered the “Beginner A” skills, and would like more challenging and lengthy lessons are a great fit for this class! Beginner A Skills that should be mastered before progression: -Log Rolls -Forward Rolls to standing (no hands) -Backwards Rolls to squat -Bridges ****Students are expected to have these skills mastered independently and without instruction, with good form and safe technique before joining Beginner B, as we will not be learning them, but will be warming them up before moving on to more difficult skills. Students not having mastered these skills poses a safety issue for attempting more advanced skills, therefore should attend Beginner A to master them before enrollment. As this is an online course, I do not have the opportunity to spot students, and ensure safety. If you are unsure if your child is ready for Beginner B, please first enroll in at least one week of Beginner A, and contact me before class so that I can plan on assessing their skill level, and make level recommendations to you via chat after**** As this is an ongoing class, students are welcome to come and go as they please, as one class does not build upon the next. Classes will cover the same basic skills and warm-ups each week. Only the experience listed above from Beginner A skills are required. Students will work on building fundamental gymnastics skills, with instruction catered toward each student's abilities at the time. Each class will consist of: -A warm-up and stretch -A variety of activities, geared towards improving balance and coordination -Advanced beginner gymnastics skills for both the floor exercise and balance beam -Handstands -Cartwheels -Bridges (including beginner kick over progressions) -Turns, Jumps, Balancing Skills -A cool down and stretch, and farewells until next week *While skills in this class are for beginners, off-camera parental guidance is necessary, as any sort of physical activity can be dangerous, and could potentially result in injury. You should understand that when participating in any exercise or exercise program, there is the possibility of physical injury. If you decide to allow your child to engage in this class, you agree that you do so at your own risk, are voluntarily participating in these activities, assume all risk of injury to your child, and agree to release and discharge the teacher (Madison Suttles) from any and all claims or causes of action, known or unknown, arising out of this class.
