Class Experience
In this ongoing class, we will learn the basics of American Sign Language. My teaching style is fun, interactive, engaging, practical...and, uh....fun. It has to be fun! Our initial classes will focus on the parameters of sign language and learning basic vocabulary that can be used right away in daily living. We will discuss a wide range of topics such as: Everyday Words for Common Objects and Actions Numbers and Quantities Greetings and Phrases Family and Relationships Food and Drink Colors and Descriptions Travel and Directions Weather and Seasons Hobbies and Activities Times and Dates and much, much more. As your student progresses, I will tailor the material to fit the needs of your child. No homework will be assigned, but I will encourage your child to practice what they learn each day. It is my hope that we can discover this beautiful language together.
