This class puts a fun spin on how to generate and conceptualize artistic ideas and work while developing creative skills. Today we will use a free online animation tool to express ourselves using animation and the theme of love.

Beginner Level
This is a live one-time class. I will present the information through a slideshow (which I will share access to for each student). My presentation time is around 8 minutes, which allows the majority of the 45 minute class time to support students in making their art. I look forward to supporting and interacting with students through their preferred means of communication whether that’s by video, audio or chat.
This class is taught in English.
- We address the National Visual Art Standard 2: Organize and develop artistic ideas and work.
- Pixels is the art vocabulary term with space as the element of art, repetition as the principal of design and text as the modern element of art.
- This lesson plan embraces student voice and choice as we envision (studio habit of mind). Students will learn to picture mentally what cannot be directly observed, heard or written and to imagine possible next steps in making a piece.
- This lesson reinforces an enduring understanding; Artists and designers experiment with forms, structures, materials, concepts, media and art making approaches.
- We explore an essential question; How do artists and designers learn from trial and error?
- This lesson would be included in a beginning animation and video editing class with the goal to reconnect students with a fun learning experience that happens through play.
I have 6 years and counting of being a public school art teacher. My time teaching includes in person and online/virtual. I am licensed in K-12 Visual Arts in both Minnesota and Michigan and have a Master’s of Education from the University of Minnesota.
