In this two-week class, students will learn the basics of memorizing a monologue.

Description

Class Experience

Students will be given a text to memorize. There will be a couple different techniques that teach students what to do that take the pressure off the task at hand. Let's have fun while learning! Each student will have a turn showing their work to the class. It is important that the student does not try to memorize the words before the class begins. Students will receive guidance and coaching throughout and any questions they have will be addressed.

This class is taught in English.

Students will increase their understanding of how to memorize their lines without focusing too much on the script. They will learn instead how to memorize the feelings and ideas the words give them.

I previously studied acting for 18 months. I have acted in several short films.

Students will be advised to continually read over their scripts if they are not able to finish in class.

A script handout to use for class will be available for download before class begins.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
