Class Experience

Beginner Level
The best way to learn English is to speak as much as possible. In this class, your child will get MANY opportunities to speak! As an experienced ESL teacher, I will patiently guide your learner during class discussions, games, and other activities. This class is best suited for CEFR Levels A1 and A2. The age range is flexible.

I will patiently and kindly assist each learner as needed. For example, sometimes a learner is shy, afraid to speak, or does not know what to say. If a learner needs help, I will give the learner some suggestions on what to say. Some learners need more help than others. That is perfectly fine!

This group class is for beginner English speakers. Your learner is ready for this class if he or she can do the following:

- Understand basic words and phrases about common topics
- Speak in a few words and phrases

Class Schedule - Here is what we will do in every class:

- When new learners come, we will introduce ourselves.
- We begin with a brief, engaging "warm up" activity, such as answering an interesting question or playing a game.
- Everyone takes turns doing "Show and Tell" (bring a toy or other favorite item to talk about)
- We will have a mini-lesson on the topic of the day (I will use engaging pictures, props, and/or a slideshow; learners will repeat new vocabulary and phrases after me)
- We will do songs, games, or other fun activities to reinforce the vocabulary and aid in comprehension.

This class is ongoing, and each lesson is independent of the other lessons. That is, the lessons do not build upon one another. Learners may join at any time, without being "behind." Here are the upcoming themes/topics:

Week of April 1: Toys and games
