1 hour per week. One journal entry per week will be assigned for athletes to log their progress, track their goals, and take time to recognize their accomplishments!Class Experience
Welcome to our 4 week Beginner A Gymnastics Summer Camp! This camp is designed for young, beginner gymnasts who are eager to learn and develop the fundamental skills necessary to progress within the sport of gymnastics. The goal of this camp is to provide a fun, safe, and supportive environment for young athletes to explore and master new skills. Each week, we will begin with a warm-up + stretch video, and then move onto our skills video, where we will demonstrate and explain the fundamental skills that we will be focusing on for that week. In these videos, you can expect an energetic, upbeat, and encouraging environment where each skill will be broken down into small, manageable steps, with helpful tips and tricks to make the learning process more accessible. This is also the day I will announce of challenge of the week! To complement the skills video, our next activity of the week will be a gymnastics based craft! I will provide a tutorial for each week’s craft so that each student can follow along step-by-step, ensuring success. This will allow learners to develop their creativity and artistic skills while also being connected to the world of gymnastics. These crafts will be easy to follow, and will be based off of a materials sheet that you will receive upon enrolling so that learners can gather everything they need in advance. As part of my commitment to helping learners track their progress, I have created a printable Gymnastics Journal, in which learners will set aside a day for a prompted journal entry each week. During this time, learners will reflect on their progress, their favorite parts of the week, and why they're proud of themselves. This journal will serve as a valuable tool for learners to recognize their strengths, as well as identify areas that require more practice. I always encourage learners to share their accomplishments, crafts, and journal entries with the classroom community throughout the week, as this will create a positive and supportive environment where learners can celebrate each other's achievements. Additionally, while a virtual class, I always offer personalized feedback to my learners. Athletes are always encouraged to reach out for help with any skill, in which I will respond with a personal video message providing feedback, tips, tricks, and drills as needed to help each student reach their goals. My goal is that by the end of our camp together, learners will have a solid foundation in gymnastics and will be well on their way to mastering more advanced techniques. Join us for an exciting journey of learning, creativity, and personal growth in the world of gymnastics!
