Description
Class Experience
The word "origami" is Japanese for "to fold paper." Originally, this craft was only available for the elite. Now, it's for everyone. In this class, I will be teaching some of the common folds used in origami creations, and demonstrate them. We will fold each one together. Then, the students will have the opportunity to practice their new skills by folding independently. At any point during class, students will be able to ask questions. Origami has many great benefits like: - developing...
Students will learn these folds specifically: 1. valley fold 2. mountain fold 3. squash fold 4. inside reverse fold 5. outside reverse fold
Each learner will need 10 or more pieces of square paper. Even though I am only teaching 5 folds, having extra sheets of paper will help with the learning process. It also gives students the option to practice while waiting for others to complete their folds. Origami paper is recommended, but you can turn printer paper into squares by folding down 1 corner to make a triangle and cutting along the edge of that triangle.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
