Da-Da-Da DAHHHHH! These four notes are the start to Beethoven's Fifth symphony which is considered to be the most famous classical composition of all time. During this class students will be introduced to the composer Ludwig van Beethoven. We will delve into his life, his Symphony of Fate, and even discuss a few musical terms (such as that famous four note "motif"). Students will learn about the Classical period of music, challenges Beethoven had to overcome in life and listen to some excerpts of this famous composition. Learning Goals
Students will learn about the life of Ludwig Van Beethoven and why his Symphony No. 5 in C minor, Op. 67 sounds angry. We will talk a little bit about the time period Beethoven lived, the classical era of music and even learn a few musical vocabulary words.
