Each week, learners will take a deep dive into a new character trait and a new social and emotional skill. The topics each week will be taught with energy, encouraging thought amongst learners.

Our class will begin with the discussion of a character trait. Each learner will be invited to self-reflect and practice self-awareness to consider how well-developed they are when it comes to the character trait and how they can improve. Each learner is encouraged to set a goal to embody this character trait for the week ahead.

Next, the class focus will move to the social emotional skill of the week. The lesson will be teacher-led but interactive. Each week will have an engaging hands-on activity to work on in class (printables are sent out before class). If you do not have a printer available, bringing paper and a pencil to class will be just fine.

Our class will conclude with an optional weekly challenge that pertains to the social or emotional skill of the week. The goal of the challenge is to keep your learner thinking about the new skill with the hopes of creating a positive new habit.

After each class, a parent summary will be added in the classroom so that you can review the information that was shared in class with your learner.

*The majority of class time is given to content and activities and students are asked to stay focused on the class theme during the lesson and focused activities.
*The goal of this class is to be accessible to any level of reading and writing, however each week has a small optional goal-writing activity. Learners always have the option to illustrate their goal instead.
*This ongoing class is currently on an 12-week rotation of content. No need to catch up or have any previous knowledge and you can join in at any point in time. You're welcome to stop or pause your subscription at anytime and start back up again (space allowing)
*If a class is missed, the class recording will be available to you
*This class is not group therapy but rather intended to help learners gain beneficial skills to thrive in relationship with themselves and others
*Positive social and emotional development is so critical. Social and emotional learning offers the benefits of academic success, fewer behavioral problems, less emotional distress, and positive social behaviour. This class provides a safe and positive space to experience social and emotional learning and to practice these new skills.
*This class was developed as a way to offer additional social and emotional topics in a style and structure that mimics my popular ongoing class "Becoming a Socially Skilled and Emotionally Intelligent Kid! Ongoing Class." Your learner can take the classes in any order or at the same time. When a learner has cycled through all the lessons in one ongoing class, they can sign-up for the next one!
