In this class, learners will be introduced to one or two parts of speech each class. We will identify them in sentences, use them in our own writing, and play a Kahoot! review game together to further review and identify the parts of speech covered that week. Learners will have the opportunity to go more in-depth with additional printables and lessons that will be sent through the classroom throughout the 3 weeks. Day 1: Nouns and Pronouns Day 2: Verbs and Verb Phrases Day 3: Adjectives and Adverbs Day 4: Conjunctions and Prepositions Day 5: Interjections and Articles Day 6: Review and Parts of Speech Graduation Celebration Our last day will consist of a short review, and then we will play our Kahoot! review game and students will have the opportunity to share some of their favorite sentences from our class together. We will do the review as a class and they will not need to access Kahoot! individually for the review.
Learning Goals
Learners will improve their knowledge and usage of a variety of parts of speech throughout each class. They will build their ability to identify different parts of speech in texts as well as in their own writing.
