In this course students will: • Discover their learning style and create their goals poster for the school year. • Discover and practice self-management techniques as it relates to time. • Discover twenty memory techniques and choose several to implement in school. • Discover reading techniques to increase comprehension and speed. • Learn how to take proper notes. . • Learn what to do before, during and after a test. • Learn the core skills for critical thinkers and how to become one. • Learn problem solving techniques for any situation.
I am a certified educator and graduated in the top of my class in high school, undergrad and graduate school. I have over 14 years in teaching and I bring learning and fun together. My students have become engineers, a violinist and a recent graduate is on her way to Yale in the fall. If your child needs a patient, understanding and fun loving teacher, you will love this class.
Students will complete weekly challenges to reinforce the concepts presented.
A list of materials as well as the questionnaire will be provided upon enrollment.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Students will complete check ups but there are no formal tests.
