Hello! In this Becoming a Dungeon Master class, we will be going through the role of a Dungeon Master in the Dungeons and Dragons game! What does it mean to be a DM? How do you choose your campaign to run? How do you prepare for a campaign? All of these questions and more will be answered as we move through the class content. The class will be taught through informative PowerPoint slides that will also include different examples and styles of Dungeon Mastering in the game. There will be no required materials for the class, but I do recommend that learners have at least learned how to make a character and play the game in a basic sense before enrolling to help with the bigger aspects of running a Dungeons and Dragons game their selves one day! At the end of the class there will be recommended shows and materials for students to begin seeing/understanding different DM styles and to help them begin their very first game for their friends!
Learning Goals
Students will understand what the Dungeon Master role is and how to prepare for the role of a DM. Students will be shown different ways to start a Dungeons and Dragons game. Students will be shown different Dungeon Mastering styles as well to further understanding of the role of a DM.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is Violet Wallace and I teach a variety of subjects and topics from debate and persuasion to character building, and even Dungeons and Dragons! When it comes to my teaching career, I have taught full time for 3 years now; one year in Canada in Adult Education teaching English Language Arts and Computer Studies and two years in the UK covering subjects from English Language Arts, Religious Studies, Photography, French, Spanish, and a bit of Biology! I believe that teachers need to be passionate about what they teach, caring and understanding to their students, and to be the best mentors/support systems they can be for their students. Progress is important and if we are having fun while being challenged along the way, a lot of growth will happen naturally in the classroom. I also have a pet cat named Wasabi who may make the occasional appearance in class!
