Class Experience

Key principles of becoming an Interior Designer and how to plan your future learning to achieve this goal.
I have an advanced degree in Interior Design, have over 25yrs working globally and at present act as Vice President of Creative for one of North America's most successful creative agencies based in Columbus, Ohio.
Each week there will be an assignment set that encourages students to start adopting creative thinking and skills. I will ask each student to send me via Outschool their work in a Pdf format for review, either live in front of the class or private via the Outschool student room. the Assignment/ Homework is optional if students do not feel they have the time.
You'll need a laptop to be able to work with Sketchup ( PC & Mac ) plus either PowerPoint ( PC/Mac ) or Keynote ( Mac only ) to pull together presentations. Students can use other software to present, but it must be able to export in Pdf format, so I can review and send back constructive feedback.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Each week each student will share their findings and will be given constructive, actionable feedback to move onto the next assignment more focused.. There will be 3 assignments across the 4 weeks ( last week there will be no assignment but a final presentation )
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
None, just be aware that this course is semi-advanced and not recommended for students under the age of 12 due to higher levels of observation and conceptual thinking.
Look on YouTube for introductions to Sketchup, this will give you some idea of the software we will be using, to a simple basic standard to help us visualize spaces.
