Become an Author in 5 Simple Steps (Ages 9-12)

In this course for children 9-12 years of age, you will learn the basics on the process of becoming a self-published author in 5 simple steps:
1. Writing Your Story
2. Editing Your Story
3. Making Illustrations
4. Putting it Together
5. Publishing Your Work

We will begin with a brief introduction on who I am and my experience with self-publishing, then we will continue by elaborating on each of the 5 simple steps. We will end the course with a presentation of my published book and the opportunity to ask questions on the publishing process and experience.

I am a visual learner, and as a teacher I have noticed that many students are the same way. Because of this, there will be visual aids for each of the 5 steps as well as activities that you can do to practice these steps. I also find it helpful to have the notes printed beforehand so that I can spend my time focusing on important additional information. Once registered, you will be able to download and print the notes for the class so that you are ready to go for class!
