In this ongoing course, students will meet once a week for 45 minutes to review essential 4th and 5th grade math skills aligned with the Common Core standards. The class schedule and topics covered are as follows: Class Schedule: September 4th: Multi-step addition and subtraction word problems September 11th: Continued practice with multi-step addition and subtraction word problems September 18th: Decimal addition and subtraction word problems September 25th: Continued practice with decimal addition and subtraction word problems October 2nd: Multi-step multiplication and division word problems October 9th: Continued practice with multi-step multiplication and division word problems October 16th: Decimal multiplication and division word problems October 23rd: Continued practice with decimal multiplication and division word problems October 30th: Multi-step word problems involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division November 6th: Continued practice with multi-step word problems involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division November 13th: Addition and subtraction multi-step word problems November 20th: Continued practice with addition and subtraction multi-step word problems November 27th: Fraction addition and subtraction word problems December 4th: Continued practice with fraction addition and subtraction word problems December 11th: Fraction multiplication and division word problems December 18th: Continued practice with fraction multiplication and division word problems December 25th: NO CLASS January 1st: NO CLASS January 8th: Division word problems with interpreting the remainder January 15th: Continued practice with division word problems and interpreting the remainder January 22nd: Continued practice with division word problems and interpreting the remainder January 29th: Continued practice with division word problems and interpreting the remainder February 5th: Continued practice with division word problems and interpreting the remainder February 12th: Fraction addition and subtraction word problems February 19th: Continued practice with fraction addition and subtraction word problems February 26th: Fraction multiplication and division word problems March 5th: Continued practice with fraction multiplication and division word problems March 12th: Word problems involving perimeter, area, and volume During each class, students will actively participate in interactive lessons. They will have opportunities to collaborate with their peers as well as work independently to solve problems using the strategies taught in the lessons. Optional homework assignments will be provided for additional practice between classes. Teaching Experience
I have a Bachelor of Art's in Elementary Education specializing in integrated sciences from Michigan State University. In 2018, I graduated from Oakland University with my Master's in Reading and Language Arts. I have taught for a total of 5 years in a traditional Brick and Mortar classroom. I also have experience with online teaching. I have been teaching with VIPKid for over two years and I have been teaching with Outschool for over a year.
