US Grade Preschool - 2
Let's talk math! This is a shorter weekly tutoring session designed for learners in grades Pre-K-2 on a desired math topic. This tutoring is for any learner whether they need extra support or would like enrichment. Since this is an ongoing tutoring class, I will get to know the level and needs of the learner and can build on topics from previous sessions. Parents or learners should provide me with information about the desired topic at least 2 hours before the session, so I can provide targeted instruction. Learners can bring homework to work on or I can provide practice problems. If students prefer hands-on learning we can work with physical or virtual manipulatives. I truly enjoy math and love helping students learn to love it as well! Here is a breakdown of a typical tutoring session: 5 minutes: Warm-up using previously taught content. The first session I will focus this time on getting to know the learner. 15 minutes: We will practice the topic for the week together in an engaging way! This could be through the use of manipulatives, a game, song, or movement activity. If the learner has homework problems they need to work on we can work on those as well. 5 minutes: We will wrap up our time together with some type of exit problem. I will answer any additional questions the learner may have and provide some feedback or "homework" if desired. **If you are looking for tutoring for older learners or slightly longer sessions, check out this course: Become a Math Master: Weekly 1:1 Math Tutoring
