Consider me your child's second teacher when it comes to writing!  This class is designed to work one-on-one with learners who need help with their school writing assignments.  So far in this class, I have helped learners complete writing assignments related to:
~Writing narrative stories
~Writing expository essays
~Creating poems
~Responding to literature
~State assessment practice
~Projects that involve writing
~Redo assignments
~Prewriting (brainstorming ideas)
~Drafting (organization of ideas) 
~Revising (adding/removing words and sentences, developing voice) 
~Editing (correcting grammar, punctuation, spelling, etc)
~Publication (formatting the final draft, MLA/APA or just overall formatting)  

Depending on how extensive the assignment is will depend on how many classes are needed. Most assignments can be completed in 1-2 sessions; however, longer, multiple-step writing assignments might take more meetings.
If a learner is simply needing a certified English teacher to help revise and edit a rough draft or check that the final draft is ready to be turned in, that would probably only require meeting once. 

I am a highly qualified, certified K-12 English Teacher that has taught 5th grade writing in the classroom for 7 years and has also edited a published book as well as working on publishing my own! I have been working with learners online for the last few years to help them complete their writing assignments and would love to help your learner as well!

Please send the assignment to be worked on prior to class starting so I have time to review it as well as what kind of help your learners is needing and any accommodations they have.

Hello! Mrs. Alison here! I am a certified K-12 ELA/ESL writing teacher for the state of Texas with over eleven years of teaching experience in the classroom and online and degrees in psychology, linguistics, and sociology. I am also a published children's book author and professional editor! Mix that all together and you have someone who desires to see the next generation of learners be equipped to change the world through writing - and be who they were made to be! 
My “Be You & Become a Better Writer” classes are for learners between the ages of 8-12 who want to embrace who they are while learning to become better at writing. It is my desire to have learners feel the freedom to express themselves through writing while developing the skills to articulate it, whether they are writing fiction stories, poems, essays, or even personal experiences. I believe everyone has a story to tell and a voice to share. I want learners to know the potential each one of them has when they put pen to paper (or fingers to keys).  
In my classroom, learners will think critically and be able to communicate clearly through writing all while being creative and passionate about the things they love!
I love meeting learners from all over the world and getting to learn from them as well. So far I have taught learners from over 35 countries and all but 3 states! 
I am looking forward to growing and learning along with all the learners in my classroom!
