Whether your child needs help to read on grade level or needs to be challenged to continue growing their skill set, I am ready to help them get there! This class is designed for those who would like one-on-one learning or tutoring. After our initial meeting and assessment, I will base the rest of the classes on skills your learner needs to become a better reader and writer. Each class will focus on a foundational skill that is missing from your reader's toolkit, personalized to their reading level and individual needs. The learner will complete activities with the teacher to practice the new skill before applying it to their own reading and writing. Because writing is the hands-on version of reading, it is naturally combined into all lessons. We will work on phonemic and phonetic awareness, reading comprehension, fluency, making inferences, context clues, and word attack strategies. If you would like different times than those listed, please reach out to me and we will create a schedule that works for all of us.

Paper and writing utensils of the learner's choice will be needed throughout each lesson.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

I place a strong emphasis on cultivating independent thinking and problem-solving skills, empowering students to expand on their knowledge and create innovative solutions. I am particularly passionate about children's literacy and recognize that being a skilled reader and critical thinker lays the foundation for lifelong learning.
My experience in education ranges from preschool to high school in various subjects through traditional classroom settings and private tutoring, online and in-person. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M University's College of Education and Human Development.
You will find a little bit of everything in my courses! Whether they focus on reading, science, math, or other subjects, I provide a safe and nurturing space where learners can take risks, be challenged, and develop the knowledge and skills they need to excel. I am dedicated to creating engaging and interactive lessons that cater to diverse learning styles, ensuring that every student feels seen, valued, and supported.
In addition to group classes, I also offer individual tutoring to provide personalized support to students who need it for any reason. This can include homework help, lessons over a specific topic, assistance in filling gaps in learning, enrichment, or test prep and study skills.
