Description
Class Experience
To have fun learning a makeup look while socializing with friends and playing games.
Hi! I'm Leah Johnson and I'm a Special FX Makeup Artist, Cosplay Makeup Artist, actor, and director working in Atlanta, GA, and on the Alabama Gulf Coast! I have been teaching kids in the arts for eight years and specialize in teaching makeup. I have a Bachelor of Music in Musical Theater from the University of Mobile Alabama School of the Arts and training through the Alliance Theater in Atlanta, GA. I love teaching kids makeup and the performing arts and love helping them advance their skills as artists and Cosplayers through makeup.
Each party's supply list will be different once the parent or student and I have discussed the theme for the party and what look the students want to do, but below is a basic list of materials you will always need: General Materials: Makeup brushes and sponges and a skinny brush for details Makeup wipes Eyeshadow palets Lipstick or lipgloss Eyeliner Foundation or Concealer Facepaint in a variety of colors Materials Specific for Gore Looks: Liquid latex, school glue and flour, or eyelash glue if doing a GORE look Cotton or toilet paper or paper towels Bowls for mixing and spoons Red food coloring Cocoa Powder Honey, Corn syrup, or Pancake Syrup
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Because this is a makeup class, students are encouraged to have a clear space to work (like a kitchen or dining room table) and will definitely want makeup wipes and paper towels on hand. Since the games are virtual, most of the time students won't need to get up and down. However, if the parent and I decide to plan a game involving movement, it might be helpful for students to have space to move around.
