Class experience
This class is a fun and easy introduction to oil pastel (or chalk pastel) blending and texture backgrounds. I will show my finished artwork at the start of class as a reference. We will discuss all the art supplies needed to create beautiful tulip flowers. I will give a step-by-step drawing lesson to sketch the flowers while learners create their work with me. Oil pastel coloring, blending and texturizing techniques to create a beautiful oil pastel painting. Chalk pastels can be substituted for oil pastels.
Mixed media paper (textured) or watercolor paper. Oil pastels (or chalk pastels) for children. (water soluble) Q-tips or use fingers to blend.
Use only child safe oil pastels (typically water soluble). Child safe plastic painting palette knife only. (No kitchen knives please.)
