In this one time 60 minute art class students will learn to paint a bearded dragon using reference photos, modelling and step by step instruction. Students will learn about five of the elements of art while painting, including lines, shapes, color and space and texture. Students will also learn how to decide which kind of brush to use. Students will interact with the teacher and each other through in classroom discussions. My teaching style is grounded in positive reinforcement and encouragement.
Learning Goals
Students will learn how to choose the right paintbrush to achieve different painting techniques. Students will learn how to use different kinds of lines and shapes to compose a painting.

Supply List
Students will need two paint brushes, one with a narrow round tip and the other with a wide flat tip. Students will also need to have a cup filled with water for rinsing their brushes, paper towels or a rag for drying their brushes, a paper plate or dish for a paint palette, and a small canvas or canvas board. I will be using an 8" x 10" canvas. If you don't have canvas, the next best thing would be watercolor paper. Students will also need acrylic paint. We will be using 6 colors: medium green, light green, pink, medium blue, black & white.
