Class Experience
Passion meets career! Ms. Ar'Tika loves teaching children of all ages, differences, and abilities. She has 3 years of teaching in a special education classroom and over 10 years tutoring, homework help, and ABA therapy in both school as well as home. Ms. Ar'tika has worked in classrooms in various positions assisting children with their academics. She believes all children can learn and learning is not the same for everyone. Ms. Ar'Tika has Bachelors in Psychology degree with an emphasis in Applied Behavioral Analysis. She has a passion for observing and changing behavior. Overall, Ms. Ar'Tika loves working and helping children grow as a whole. She is most proud of her positive outlook, patience, and abilities to help students succeed.
Week 1 Materials: Printable Penguin, Bow tie, and shirt Crayons, markers, color pencils (whatever the child has is fine) Glue Scissors Construction paper (Penguin can be printed on black for time purposes or colored in advanced) Week 2 Materials Do you "wanna" build a snowman? Snowman template (cut in advance) STEAM activity: Making Snow (Parent needed) Baking soda Shaving cream Lavender essential oil (optional) Week 3 Materials I Have a DREAM catcher Printable (can print onto color construction paper or color) Paper plate Paint Construction paper Yarn Glue stick beads, plastic gem stickers (optional) scissors paintbrush hole punch Week 4 Materials Rainbow Fish Tissue paper (colored) or construction paper Printable (print to cardstock) Aluminum foil Glue
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Learners will need supervision with craft activity including the handling of scissors, hole punch, aluminum foil, beads, glue and any small items.
