US Grade 2 - 5
Being unique is super cool and during this one time class we will be looking at the things that are unique about ourselves, learning why being ourselves is the only way to be, and taking a look at some really unique whales... narwhals! In this class we will learn about Narwhals, their habits, their scientific name, and what makes them unique. We will also be learning about why being unique is awesome. I will share a few slides, we will have some open discussion, and we will craft! Learners will learn some science, touch on life skills of acceptance, engage with other students, and express themselves through a craft. The class will closely structured to the following... Brief introduction time, discussion time (about both narwhals and the concept of uniqueness), slide presentation, craft, story, and if time allows, a narwhal video. *note the supplies are listed in the supply section but aren't uncommon household items such as... crayons, markers, scissors, paper, paper plate, and the like.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I have taught this class to different groups at a cooperative, for both lower and upper elementary students. I enjoy teaching a subject or principle and including different areas of study along with the original idea. I have trained in a non credited format, for many years, with an author and speaker who specializes in teaching children character.
I am a homeschool mom that has taught American History, Biology, and Life Skills for 3 years in a cooperative setting. I have also tutored 3rd-5th graders in Math, Science, and History through an after school program. Though I have a biology background academically, I enjoy many subjects and having fun!
