Description

Class Experience

Students will learn about the life of a veterinarian, what the day looks like, what animals they treat, general animal care, and fun facts!
I am the co-author of the popular book series, BE THE VET, which has sold 11,000 copies. The other co-author is my husband, veterinarian Dr. Ed Blesy. Dr. Ed wrote the veterinary information based upon his twenty + years of veterinary experience while explaining veterinary terminology for student understanding. This case and treatment are fictionalized based upon one doctor’s experience. It was important for us to write a book where the readers get to feel as if they are part of the experience using the context clues from my stories.

I am also a former certified elementary school teacher and the author of over 25 books for children.
BS in elementary education
MS in educational administration
scissors glue crayons plain paper pencil stuffed animal printed items sent prior to class for some classes
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
🐾Real veterinary cases may be shared. Some of the cases may be a bit gross like tapeworms, bodily fluids, etc. Any cases shared will end well, though, with positive outcomes.

🐾Scissors will be used occasionally.

🐾Canva slides are used to show the students information and images. No subscription is needed by the learner.

🐾Youtube videos may be used to support our learned material (ie: a dog getting its teeth brushed, a virtual visit of an animal shelter).
