🕸🕷🕸🕷🕸🕷🕸🕷🕸🕷🕸🕷🕸🕷 In this one time class, the students will listen to a non fiction National Geographic Kids book called Spiders. The author's purpose is to teach us all about the importance of spiders to humans and other animals. We will research and record non fiction facts about spiders. The students will then complete a step by step non fiction diagram of a spider life cycle and learn more interesting facts along the way. If the students feel comfortable, they will share their spider project with others in the class. When the spider life cycle project is complete it will be an All About Spider project that can be proudly hung on the wall for all to admire! Be nice to spiders! 🕸🕷🕸🕷🕸🕷🕸🕷🕸🕷🕸🕷🕸🕷

Hi! Welcome to my Outschool classroom.
My name is Betty Nilssen. 💕
I have a BS in Elementary Education with a minor in Spanish from UW-Milwaukee. I am a first grade teacher, but I have also taught second, third and fourth grade, full inclusive classrooms. My passion for teaching reading while incorporating phonics, phonemic awareness, rhyming, comprehension, fluency, vocabulary, science, social studies, math, drawing and writing helps children strengthen their academic skills while they gain academic confidence and a love of learning. Teaching reading is my super power.
However, I always incorporate math, writing, drawing, social studies and science into all of my lessons, as well.
I have three adult daughters and two of them are teachers. My mom was also an educator.
There are so many books to read, words and sentences to write, math equations to solve and fiction and non fiction pictures to draw. Let's get started!
Enroll your Early Childhood Education student and your child will further develop an academic foundation and gain academic confidence with a love of learning. Your child will be a life time reader!
Feel free to reach out to me with any questions or if you are looking for different times or dates for classes.
I can't wait to work with you and your child and further a passion for learning!
